WHY NOT TO LIFT A RABBIT BY ITS’ SCRUFF…

There is one very important reason why you shouldn’t do this and that is because when you lift a rabbit by the scruff the skin is torn loose from the muscle tissue. This is painful and can cause quite an amount of distress. As well as this rabbits are prey animals and being picked up from behind can cause shock as they think they are being attacked.
