WHY CARROTS ARE TREATS…

Years ago I was on a diet and a woman said to me as I ate raw carrot and hummus for my lunch – carrots are fattening! I remember thinking, go away…

But it would seem she wasn’t entirely wrong: Carrots are quite high in sugar as are fruits such as apple, pear, banana, etc so only feed these in small quantities or as a treat.

What can I say??? Sorry…..

I do give my rabbits bits of carrots sometimes as well as other vegetables but I am very careful about that. My special treat for them is a few leaves of milk thistle, a piece of celery, a little bit of clover and I do have happy little rabbits. At the moment I have two precious little babies who are very beautiful and hopefully some more on the way as well. I love my rabbits better than any other animal I have had over the years.
