Guinea Pigs As Pets
Guinea pigs are amazing little animals that make some of the best pets to take home from the pet shops around the country. These fun loving animals come in many breeds, which vary in size and coloring to provide a large selection for those who want to own one or even several of these highly social pets.
Since guinea pigs are so easy to care for and yet still so very playful they are some of the most popular pets for kids who are getting their first animal and even with adults who just want a fun roommate without the hassles of a large pet.
Owning a pet guinea pig could not be any easier and outfitting them with a home to live in is not terribly expensive. A pet shop can easily set you up with all the guinea pig supplies you need in order to bring one home. A first time owner will need to make sure they have a guinea pig cage to put them as well as plenty of bedding to keep it clean.
A simple water dish and some food and a guinea pig can be welcomed into your home as simple as that.
Since guinea pigs are so very playful it is essential to also provide them with plenty to do so they do not get bored. Filling their cage with lots of safe guinea pig toys as well as things to chew on will give them plenty to do.
These toys will stimulate their minds and the chews will give them what they need for their ever growing teeth to keep them down. Of course like other rodents, guinea pigs love to run on a wheel so providing them with one of these is important to ensure that they get proper exercise even when inside their cage.
